Muldoon the same & do up horses at night_
Griffin thrash till 4 ½ o 'C, then do up cattle &e___
George about cattle&e, & saw wood till near 5 o 'C,
then refill ash_barred____ Self about sundries__
25Friday. James about horses in morn..,
draw down 2 load straw, 1 load hay
to cow_loft & at sundries till dinner, then draw
another load hay to cow loft, to brewery with
wood_sleigh for grains, fill barrel_
Muldoon help about horses in morn..,
help with dtraw & hay, then draw in 1 load
soft_wood, Griffin about cattle &e,
shovel snow from some of the doors, help stow away
straw & hays saw wood, George ill_____
Self rewedge one of the saw log axes & at sundries___
26Saturday. James about horses in morn.., in woods after
crotches till about 4 o 'C, then at sundries,
Muldoon the same, Griffin thrash wheat__
George about cattle &e, saw wood____ Self
looking after crotches round by Rob ts , Allows &
James till 2 o 'C,, then had dinner & went to the post.
27Sunday. Church P.M. Self in cutter a little beyond
Paynes to look at crotch that got split in the
falling__ Charley came in about 9 o 'C at night,
brought Miss Butler from Ottawa , round the road.
28Monday. James about horses morn.., & even g .. help thrash
3 or 4 stakes wheat, then help clean up wheat &
at sundries for a start, Muldoon help about
horses, draw in 3 load softwood & at sundries___
Griffin finish thrash scotch wheat, then help
clean it up & about sundries in even g ..__
George about cattle &e, saw wood, take down
Self file long X-cut & M c Adoon's X-cut___
Charley & Miss Dyer started about noon to go
a-X ice, got a little beyond the Point, then
found snow & water so deep, came back & went round the road__
29Tuesday. James about horses in morn.., edge up axes
till 10 o 'C, then fall & prepare for x-cutting_
Muldoon draw oat_straw in morn.., then
same as James, Griffin help with straw
in morn.. shovel snow off unthrashed
oats & out of barn, then thrash oats___ George
about cattle &e____ Self put a handle to
carving fork, then very poorly rest of the day__
30Wednesday. James & Muldoon about horses in
morn.., x-cut 25 logs, Griffin thrash
oats till noon , then clean up & draw
them down & bring in the wood, George
about cattle &e, saw wood, help clean
up & measure oats___ Self to the post,
then put handles on two knife & one fork___
31Thursday. James & Muldoon fall & x-cut 16 logs__
Griffin sweep out barn, thrash, peas__
George about cattle &e, saw wood &e__
Self not well, went to Joe Smith's in afternoon
with some prov d .., then to the post & down to Th o Collins___

1Friday. James Muldoon about horses in morn..,
cut roads & make rollway, Griffin
thrash peas, George about cattle &e, saw wood__
Self mix paint, mark the doz new bags made by Alice__
2Saturday. James about horses in morn.., finish rollway
& lay up 5 logs, Muldoon draw pea_straw
in morn.., help at rollway & lay up the logs__
Griffin help with peas straw in morn.., thrash
peas till 3 o 'C, then at sundries about house___
George about cattle &e, saw wood & about sundries___
Self drive up & pin hoop on new wash-tub, & at sundries___
3Sunday. Church A.M. Griffin took Miss Butler & children
to do__ on ax sleigh___ Muldoon took Kate in cutter to Rob ts .. in afternoon
4Monday. James about horses in morn.., unload pea_straw, to woods for old
crotch & 1 load soft_wood & at sundries till dinner, clean up & draw
down peas, Muldoon draw pea_straw in morn.., make crotch &
about sundries, Griffin help with do_ in do_ & fodder cattle &e___
at sundries & saw wood till dinner, help clean up peas, do up do_ &e__
