Self to Wainman's called at several houses
on the road back, got home about 5 o 'C____
6Wednesday. James about horses in morn.., then to
Ottawa with double sleigh, Muldoon
draw wood for himself, Griffin thrash
peas in morn.. help load sleigh & thrash again__
George about cattle &e, saw wood, Self down
the town till dinner, then vacate 3 of Alice 's
children & 3 of the M c Mullins____
7Thursday. James remained in Ottawa over_night,
got back at 1 ½o'C, round the roadm put
away flour &e, Muldoon about horses in
morn, draw down straw, hay, 1 load hardwood
& at sundries, Griffin help at the same work__
George about cattle &e, saw wood & at sundries___
Self mend gloves & one mit, weigh some flour__
8Friday. James about horses in morn.., draw in 11 logs
in 5 trips, Muldoon help with horses in
morn.., shovel several drifts from high road
into sawmill yard till dinner, then shovel
snow from back of horse stable & draw 2
logs of hay to it__, Griffin saw wood in morn..,
then help shovel snow & help with hay___
George about cattle &e, shovel snow doors & cellar
window still dinner, split wood & help stow away hay__
Self not very well, repair g .. latches in afternoon__
9Saturday. James & Muldoon about horses morn.. &
eveng.. lay up 19 logs, Griffin saw wood
10 o 'C, then to Aylmer George about
cattle &e, saw some hardwood__ Self at
sundry jobs till dinner, then in cutter to Rob ts ..
to the post & home, then to Joe Smith's with a bag prov d ..
10Sunday. Church P.M. Self, Mary & Horace out for a
drive before dinner, rained most of the time__
11Monday. James about horses in morn.., harness horses tie
barrels on sleigh, help make drain at back_door
& to Payne's for the split-crotch till noon , then at
sundries & clean up peas, Muldoon help about
horses & draw water from river in morn.. make
drain at back door & draw 2 load hardwood
to shed by dinner, then clean up & draw down peas,
Griffin not here, George about cattle &e, saw wood_
Self to Brewery for grains & to Payne's for
crotch till noon , then look to things & repair g . old wheel barrier__
12Tuesday. James & Muldoon about horses in morn..,
then fall & X-cut 16 logs, Griffin no work__
George about cattle &e, settle watering place
for cattle & about sundries___ Self finish repair
wheel barrow by dinner, set & file the cast x-cut for
Payne's use, & about sundry jobs____
13Wednesday. James & Muldoon about horses in morn..,
edge up one axe, fall & x-cut 14 sawlogs__
Griffin thrash Bl k Sea till about 9 o 'C,
then ill; George about cattle &e,
Self put a new handle in Jame's saw logs ax
by noon , then at sundries & file hardwood saw__
14Thursday. James & Muldoon's about horses in morn..,
fall & x-cut 17 logs, Griffin thrash g ..

Self started for the Chats, got about a mile
on Rolston line, found road so bad,
came back to dinner, walked to sawlog bush___
15Friday. James about horses in morn.., drew in 15 logs,
Muldoon help at horses in morn.. draw in
load soft__wood & some green bushes for sheep__
Griffin thrash Bl k Sea , George about cattle &e,
saw wood & at sundries__ Self finish put iron on banister__
16Saturday. James about horses in morn.., draw in 15 logs
Muldoon help at horses in morn.., draw down
2 load wheat straw & 1 load pea_straw, then 2 load
hard_wood to shed & saw soft_wood Griffin
thrash wheat in morn.., help with the straw till noon
then do again, George about cattle &e, saw hard wood___
