make hay; Tooly & Hogan mow till dinner,
rake up & carry hay out of garden, then help rake up
& cart hay from Woodfeild; George kill a roaster;
weed in garden, pick currants & help a start at hay ___
21Thursday. James & Griffin mow & make hay, Tooly & Hogan
mow, help make & cart hay; George weed g .. garden,
& about sundries; ___ Self to Ottawa in buggy ___
22Friday. James, Tooly, Hogan & Griffin mow till 10' o C, then
rake up & draw in, George about cows &e, help at
hay for a start & in Gristmill;__Self & H.P.Hill up at ¼10 o' C_
23Saturday. James mow & help make hay; Tooly mow & rake up
till dinner, then draw in; Hogan make up river fence
in morn.., then mow & rake up till dinner, cart in;
Griffin at river fence till 10' o C, then at hay; George at
sundries in morn.., kill a roaster, snag tatoe, help at hay __
24Sunday. Church P.M.
25Monday. James mow & rake up hay; Tooly & Hogan
mow, help rake up & cart hay; Griffin to the
wharf with stone-cart for two barrels of pork in
morn.., then mow & rake up hay; George snag tatoes,
kill a roaster & about sundries___ H.P.Hill off home __
26Tuesday. James & Tooly mowing; Hogan at sundries in
morn.. then mow; Griffin at sundries in morn.; mow &
help put wheels on horse-rake before dinner, mow till
5½ o' C, then help Self rig up new axle &e for ox-cart;
George saw wood, weed g .. garden, help at horse-rake & ox-cart
for a start __ Self finish horse-rake by dinner, then about do ___
27Wednesday. James weed carrots till 11 o' C, then rake up with horse;
Tooly & Hogan at do_ do_ do_, help make hay till dinner,
then cart it; Griffin do_do_do, then at hay; George about
sundries & help at hay for a while after dinner __- Self at
ox-cart in morn.., to Luton in buggy till near 11 o' C, finish off
do & with the crop v till dinner, then at hay ___
28Thursday. James mow, rake up with horse & help at hay;
Tooly & Hogan mow till about 9½ o' C, then make hay &
cart it; Griffin do _ do _ do do, then do _ do;
George at sundries in garden, to the Brewery for beer, saw
wood & at do _ again___Self very poorly last night & to day_
29Friday. James, Tooly, Hogan & Griffin mowing -_
George weed g .. the paths, saw wood & about sundries __
Self measure boards & to Brewery in buggy till dinner_
30Saturday. James mow till near 11 o' C, rake with horse
till 5½ o' C, then put up some cocks; Tooly & Hogan
mow till 11 o' C, make hay till dinner, then cart in _
Griffin to Brewery with stone-cart & up to the forge on
foot till a late breakfast, saw wood & help put
rivets in the wheel till dinner, then help at hay; George at
sundries in garden & about house till dinner, help at hay till
6 o' C, then about house again, ___ Self put^6 rivets in wheel, help at hay__

AUGUST 1864.
1Monday/ James & Tooly finish mow soon after breakfast,
make hay till dinner, then weed carrots & turnips;
Griffin draw down some of the Muldoon wood in
morn.., at hay till dinner, then at carrots &e; Hogan at home;
George about sundries & saw wood most of afternoon __
Self took Constance & her little boy to the wharf in buggy __
2Tuesday. James & Tooly help ring pigs in morn.., harness horses
&e, fork off a load of hay, then turn hay till near 4 o' C, then
cart in; Griffin help ring the big pigs & now thistles in morn..,
then about hay; Hogan at home; George saw wood & about
sundries till dinner, then help at hay___Self ring pigs
in morn.., to Bradley's forge in waggon till 3 o' C
dinner, then took Kate to Edward's in buggy _____
3Wednesday James weed turnips in morn.., shake out cocks
in kitchen garden, fork off a load hay cart in do_,
& cart some gravel to waggon shed by dinner, then
weed carrots, Tooly at turnips in morn.., help with
the hay & put horse-rake away, then weed carrots _
Griffin at turnips in morn.., shake out the cocks,
weed carrots; George weed g .. in garden, help
in with the hay from kitch.. garden & about sundries___
Self put away scythes, forks & rakes & abot sundries
till dinner, sleep for about two hours, then
look about & to Rob ts in buggy, Mary also ___
