Self to Ottawa in single sleigh with 9 bush.. Snows

25Saturday. James about horses in morn.., to Aylmer

with tatoes in double sleigh & on to Ottawa

in wagon; Tom about horses & help load up

tatoes, then chop hardwood; Tooly measure

load tatoes, do_ do_ do; Griffin help measure

tatoes in morn.., then off home, George about

cattle &e______ Self to Aylmer with tatoes

in single sleigh, then shift to wagon & on

to Ottawa , got Doll into a hole coming home____

26Sunday. Church A.M. Self, Kate & Charley to

Benny's in single sleigh in after_noon___

27Monday. James about horses in morn.., to Aylmer

with Self till ¼ o 'C, dinner, then to

Rob ts .. corner with wood_sleigh for the iron,

plough & about sundries; Tom to Aylmer ,

Tooly at home; Griffin returned in even g ..___

George about cattle &e & about sundries_____

Self to Aylmer in single sleigh, got back to 1 o 'C,

dinner, to Rob ts .. corner for plough with 3 bean__

_sleigh, then to John Streets in single sleigh____

28Tuesday. James about horses in morn.., then to M c 'Mertree's;

Tom not here; Tooly at home; Griffin

not here; George about cattle &e, twice

to Berry's to try & see Mc'Lean, boil

a pot of tatoes for pigs & about sundries____

Self in single sleigh as four as Mowbry's gate

on my return went to Edward's by 6 th line &

back same road, drove down to Berry 's & Rob ts ..,

got back to dinner, then about sundries_____

29Wednesday. James at home; Tom about horses

in morn.., ties rack on sleigh, help draw

4 load hay from Edward's, Tooly not here till

even g .., Griffin at sundries in morn.., help with

some of the hay______ Ham Edwards drew in

2 load of the hay, put it on Cow_Loft____ Self draw g .. hay___

30Thursday. James about horses in morn.., help carry up water

from river put saw_dust on ice, help roll

logs to mill, regulate things in mill, began to

saw in even g ..; Tom about horses in morn..,

draw in the sawlog left in Murdock's fail &

do_ logs into mill till dinner, draw in

3 small load soft_wood; Tooly at sundries

in morn.., chop hardwood for a start, then off home;

Griffin thrash oats; George about cattle &e_______

Self put in mill_saw, file & set it & about sundries____

31Friday. James work sawmill; Tom about horses in morn..,

draw in 3 small load soft_wood & about horses

till dinner, help put away some of the sleighs,

draw in ½ load green hardwood, then about sundries

Tooly at home, Griffin thrash oats; George about

cattle &e, boil two pots of tatoes, clean up about

back door, wheel pea_straw out of garden_______

Self put 2 cogs in gig_wheel & about sundry jobs____

APRIL 1865.

1Saturday. James work sawmill; Tom about horses in

morn.., draw 2 loads oat_straw to Cow_loft,

clean up oats & about sundries; Tooly at home;

Griffin thrash g .. oats in morn.., help with straw &

clean up oats, thrash again; George about cattle &e,

in morn.., off to get his boots rep d .. till dinner,

then saw wood, clean out old cellar & at sundries__

Self point & set mill_saw, & about sundry jobs__

2Sunday. Church P.M. M r .. Butler came on horse_back__

3Monday. James work sawmill; Tom about horses in morn..,

at sundries & help carry up wash g .. water, take shoes off

Duke, Liz & Spring by dinner, then draw in 3 strips

dry pine on crotch, Tooly came about 10 o 'C, about sundries

till dinner, then fall dry pine; Griffin thrash oats;
