had come up to remain all night____

24Monday. James about horses in morn.., draw 2 load

bushes, plant 'em & draw another, Muldoon

not here, Peter saw wood in morn.., help bush

road, Griffin at home, Payne help bush road_

George about cattle &e draw water from river,

saw wood & at sundries____ Self refit &

fasten one of the windows in old kitchen & about

sundries____ Charley & Hammy off after breakfast__

25Tuesday. X-mas day, Church A.M. James about

horses, Muldoon help about horses & bring in wood_

George about cattle &e___ Self not out to day or yester y ..__

26Wednesday. James about horses in morn.., finish bush g ..

road by noon , then about sundries,

Muldoon & Peter saw wood in morn.., help

bush the road by noon , draw down load

pea_straw, clean up peas & draw 'em down.

Griffin not here, George about cattle &e, & at

divers jobs___ Self at sundry jobs_____

27Thursday. James about horses & measure up wheat

&e in morn.., weigh the hides & load the

sleigh, then to Ottawa with Mary & Constance.

Muldoon help measure wheat, weigh hides,

& load sleigh, draw down a load wheat__

_straw, saw wood & at sundries,

Griffin not here, George about cattle &e,

help with straw, help cover up all the

meat & about sundries____ Self at re_

_pairs about Old Kitchen door till dinner

then pack away all the meat & to Rob ts ..

with Doll in cutter to borrow some Prov ..__

28Friday. James about horses in morn.., then cut

road to get at soft wood, Muldoon

saw wood in morn.., help at road for

soft_wood, Griffin here by no work_

George about cattle &e, stow away flour,

saw wood & about sundries____ Self

put in S o window in N o 2 cellar, clean &

fix up Hall pipes, & at sundries_____

29Saturday. James about horses in morn.., cut road

for sawlogs, Muldoon saw wood in

morn.., help cut road into sawlog bush____

Griffin here but no work, George about

cattle &e, & to Brewery till dinner, then saw

a little wood & do up the things______ Self put

a slip on top of old kitchen door & one on the

side of old up_stairs door____________

30Sunday. Church P.M. Self to Tom Baskins with

Doll in cutter round by Rob ts & back same way

then with Poll to Edward's by lake_road & back by swamp_road.

31Monday. James about horses in morn.., then cut a

new road to hardwood bush, Muldoon

saw hardwood in morn.., help cut new road__

Peter at new road from noon , Griffin in thrash

wheat, George about cattle &e, & at sundries__

Self take men up lake_road in cutter &

drive about till noon , then about sundries

to hard_wood bush, Muldoon & Peter grind

axes in morn.., then at new road, Griffin

thrash wheat till dinner, to the post & at

sundries, George about cattle &e, & about

half the day fixing his stove_pipes____ Self take

down what boarding I had done back of water_

_pipe, joint the boards & put it_up again___

2Wednesday. James about horses in morn.., help catch

2 lambs, tie 'em in sleigh, harness horses, then

cut new road, Muldoon, Peter at sundries

in morn.., then at new road to hard_wood bush

Griffin saw wood in morn.., clean up & mea_

_sure wheat till dinner, then at sundries___

George about cattle &e, help clean up wheat &e___
