Gristmill; Muldoon about horses in morn.., draw
a load hay to Horses, lay up timber till dinner, then draw
it home; Tooly about horses in morn.., chop hardwood;
Griffin split wood in morn.., help with hay & timber
till dinner, then chop hardwood; George about cars
&e, to Brewery with horse_cart & about sundries__
Collins very slippery, went home soon after breakfast___
Self about sundries till dinner, work Gristmill___
23Saturday. James work sawmill; Muldoon about horses in
morn.., harness horses to waggon, draw logs into mills,
draw in 1 piece flatted timber, then
Tooly about horses in morn.., chop hardwood, Griffin
at sundries in morn.. help with logs to mill, then to
hardwood bush; George about cattle &e; Collins at
Berry 's____ Self to the forge in waggon from 8 ¼ o 'C,
A.M. till 6 ¼ o 'C, P.M. took Miss Butter out & back again_
24Sunday. Church A.M.
25Monday. James work sawmill; Muldoon about horses
in morn.., help shake carpet, draw logs to mill,
& sleighs up to barn till dinner, then draw trip
wood for George ; Tooly not here; Griffin help
about horses in morn.., help with carpet & the log,
till dinner, then to the hardwood bush; Moran
came about noon , chop hardwood for about two hours,
came back on act.. of rain, grind axe; George about
cows &e, saw wood & about sundries; Collins finish
a piece floor g .. in Old cellar in morn.., then do_ do_
flooring Old Pea_cook house, then about sundries____
26Tuesday. James work sawmill; Muldoon about horses in morn..,
get ready to plough & run two scrapes at this end of
16 Acre_field, found it too wet, then chop hardwood;
Tooly not here till even g .. Griffin about horses in
morn.., chop hardwood; Moran pile lumber in
do__, then do_ do_ do_; George about cows &e___
Collins spu r .. up bottom, piece for gate at barn, at gate for
clothes_yard for a while, then make a frame to hang clothes
on in a closet in new part of house____
27Wednesday. James work sawmill; Muldoon & Tooly
about horses in morn.., chop & pile hardwood;
Griffin ill; Moran about sundries in morn..,
help at hardwood; George about cows &e, empty &
refill tub & about sundries; Collins make
pins for frame in the closet, finish repair gate at
this end of Lane & about sundries_____
28Thursday. James work sawmill till 2 o 'C, pile lumber till
5 o 'C, while saw was being put in order;
Muldoon about horses in morn.., draw logs into
mill a load hay do_, & a load straw to cows
by dinner, then cut a piece of a road back of new
clearance & draw home 3 sawlogs; Tooly about
horses in morn.., chop soft_wood till dinner, then
fall & butt sawlogs; Griffin ill; Moran at
sundries in morn.., chop soft_wood till dinner,
then x-cut logs; Collins at gate for clothes_ yard in
morn.., help in with logs to mill, help with hay & straw,
then help out road & x-cut logs; George about cows &e____
29Friday. James work sawmill, Muldoon about
horses in morn.., draw in 7 logs; Tooly about
do_ & grind axe in morn.., then fall & butt logs;
Griffin at sundries in do__, kill the calf & re_
_pair dam till 2o'C, then help draw home logs;
Moran at sundries in morn.., x-cut logs;
Collins the same; George about cows &e, clean
cal head & feat_____ Self pin an old bunk on
a new crotch, clean kitchen pipe & at sundries__
30Saturday. James work sawmill; Muldoon about
horses in morn.., draw in 11 logs;
Tooly about horses in morn.., butt a tree butt
& top, found it good for nothing, chop soft_wood
till near noon , then help draw in logs; Griffin
look g .. for a lamb in morn.., do_ do_ do_ till noon , then
off home; Moran look for lamb in morn.., run a cut in the
bad tree, chop soft_wood till dinner, help load logs;
Collins at sundries in morn.., run a cut in the bad tree, then to Aylmer__
