Index to Accounts in Horace Pinhey’s Diary, 1856–1865

In 2003, the Pinhey’s Point Foundation was fortunate to acquire a diary of the Hon. Hamnett Pinhey’s eldest son, Horace, which details farm management on the Horaceville property for a number of years after the death of his father. A digitized version of this diary is available elsewhere on this website.

At the back of Horace’s 1856–1865 diary are a number of pages of individual accounts which have been indexed below.

  • The accounts for 1856–1864 occupy 25 pages numbered back to front following the diary entries for September 1864.
  • Accounts, mostly for 1863–1865, occupy 15 further pages, also numbered in reverse order, beginning at the final page of the diary.
  • In the index below, the pages in the first section are prefaced with an A, and the pages in the second section with a B. Several pages in the second section were not individually numbered by Horace and have been assigned a number in sequence which is identified in square brackets in the index.
  • Inserts noted in the index are loose account documents tucked in the accounts sections of the diary.
